Il Sorpasso
Calafuria (Livorno). Il film “Il Sorpasso” che Dino Risi diresse nel 1962, con Vittorio Gassman, Jean-Loius Trintignant e Chaterine Spaak narra dell’incontro tra lo spericolato Bruno, iperattivo, esibizionista, istrionico, irresponsabile, vuoto, a momenti generoso e amichevole, che incarna perfettamente la società italiana di quegli anni, ed il giovane timido ed inesperto studente Roberto. A bordo dell’aggressiva Lancia Aurelia B24 di Bruno, essi corrono lungo la costa tirrenica vivendo eccitanti esperienze. Il Sorpasso è da considerarsi un vero “road movie” (Dennis Hopper rivelerà di essersi ispirato a “il Sorpasso” per il suo “Easy Rider”). Le loro avventure, sottolineate dalla colonna sonora delle canzoni degli anni ’60 come “Saint Tropez Twist” di Peppino di Capri, “Guarda come dondolo” di Edoardo Vianello, “Vecchio frack” di Domenico Modugno, hanno il loro tragico epilogo sulla scogliera di Calafuria, dove, in seguito ad un sorpasso azzardato, l’Aurelia B24 finisce fuori strada e con lei la vita del giovane Roberto.

Calafuria (Livorno). The movie “Il Sorpasso” (The Overtaking) directed by Dino Risi in 1962, with Vittorio Gassman, Jean-Loius Trintignant and Chaterine Spaak tells of the encounter between Bruno, hyperactive, exhibitionist, self-centered, narcissistic, outrageous, and empty, at moments generous and friendly, that the Italian society of those years incarnates perfectly, and the timid young student Roberto, shy and inexperienced. On board the Bruno’s aggressive Lancia Aurelia B24 they run along the thyrrenian coast, living exciting experiences. “Il Sorpasso” is to be considered a real “road movie” (Dennis Hopper will reveal to be inspired from this movie for his “Easy Rider”). Their adventures, underlined by the soundtrack songs of the sixties like “Saint Tropez Twist” of Peppino di Capri, “Guarda come dondolo” of Edoardo Vianello, “Vecchio frack” of Domenico Modugno had their tragic final on the rocky coast of Calafuria where, trying a difficult overtaking, the Aurelia B24 goes out of the road and the young Roberto dies.
