Greetings,

It has been a while since I first looked at this cache. I can't find any recent responses about maintaining this cache so for the time being it will be archived and removed from the active cache listings. We are no longer leaving caches stay disabled for extended periods of time.

Groundspeak and the geocaching community appreciate your contributions to geocaching and I hope to see this cache back in operation soon.

If you can get it back up and running in the next week or so contact me to get it re-listed. Otherwise plan to move it slightly and set up a new cache page.

[green]Most problems can be solved with good communication so reply back to the reviewer and we will do everything possible within the guidelines to get your cache published. It is best to give me as much information as possible instead of saying nothing at all. This will speed up the process and we can get your cache published. [/green]

Geocache Description:

This is the first of three caches placed on this property by permission. This is a quick and easy travel bug trading cache, so take a break from the monotony of I-70 driving, or swing by if you’re in the area, and grab an easy bean and trade a bug or two!

This property is only about a mile north of I-70. A parking lot is near the cache, and the cache is an easy access. It's not far from the trailhead of a trail that leads down the bluff to the KATY Trail and the Missouri River. The cache is an ammo box. Please cover the box well before you leave, and watch for muggles!

One of my purposes in placing these caches is to encourage others to discover and enjoy this unique area. Rocheport, just up the road, combines history with quaint small river town Missouri charm to offer an abundance of enjoyable experiences. Lewis & Clark traveled through and explored this area. The KATY Trail, a state park and the longest rails-to-trails project in the nation (225 miles long) goes right through town. The only railroad tunnel on the old line is here. The trail here boasts white limestone bluffs on one side, with the Missouri River on the other. The scenery is particularly magnificent in the spring and fall. Just down the trail you will find a cave and the only portions of remaining Indian bluff pictographs in the area. Rocheport also offers antique shops, bookstores, restaurants and cafes, bike rentals for the trail, canoe trips down the river, bed & breakfasts, and a blufftop winery. I discovered this area after moving to Columbia several years ago, and hope to inspire others to explore it. Please feel free to take brochures I’ve placed in the cache. These 3 caches are my first - feedback welcome!

PLEASE REMEMBER TO LEAVE A TRAVEL BUG OR GEOCOIN IF YOU CHOOSE TO TAKE ONE!! DON'T LEAVE THE B&B VACANT!!
