WWRiver Harris Park Traditional Cache
RCH-WWW: So much for plans to replace the cache! The Flood destroyed not only the cache, but the cache site, the bridge, the road, and much of Harris Park. Guess it will be awhile before we go hiking up there. Cache on!

You will be looking for a 35mm film cannister. I was out hiking up the South Fork trail the other day and decided that we needed a few more caches in the area. However, I only had a "micro" with me....but it will be an easy find for you!
Harris Memorial Park was dedicated in 1972, as a Umatilla County Park. It has picnicing and camping facilities. If you continue up the gravel road east of the park, there ia a great trail along the South Fork of the Walla Walla River for hiking, biking, or horsebackriding. It's a great area to get away to the mountains, without having to drive very far. Oh...and there are several other caches on the trail too!!

THE WALLA WALLA RIVER
The Walla Walla River is an interstate river that originates in the Blue Mountains of eastern Oregon. It then runs north into Washington State and west to the Columbia River. This river is approximately 80 miles long. It originates at an elevation near 5800 feet, and at its confluence with the Columbia River, it’s elevation is approximately 330 feet above sea level. The Walla Walla River is spawning habitat for both bull trout and steelhead. The water is also widely used in the summer for crop irrigation. The name “Walla Walla” comes from the Native Americans who lived in the valley. It’s meaning is “many waters” or “small, rapid steams”.
