Camp Will-O-Rill was a Girl Scouts of Milwaukee Area property from
1948 until October 2006. With the pending merger of the various
Girl Scout council's in this part of the state, I am sure all camp
properties are being evaluated.
This cache was originally placed during the closing ceremony on
Sunday, October 22, 2006 but I waited before listing it.
You can get to the cache by STAYING ON PUBLIC
LAND and still see part of the former Girl Scout camp. Enjoy the
view of the Milwaukee River.
On the north side of the road, you will see one of the three
Troop House buildings. This was the Farm House. Stay on the road,
respecting the signs.
I have many memories of camping here as a girl and again as a
leader.
In front of the Farm House building, there is a wooden bridge. My
troop of girls built this bridge over Halloween weekend in 1986 -
and it was still standing at the Camp Closing in 2006 when this
photo was taken. It is unfortunate the bridge can not be seen from
the public road.
Enjoy your STOP at this Dead End! Bring your own pen or pencil
to sign the log sheet. Thank you for putting the "container" upside
down so the opening is facing the road when you are done. This will
make sense once you found it.
Attributes: scenic view, takes less than 1 hour, available in
winter, available 24-7
