Like A Halibut Traditional Cache

Each summer Valdez comes alive with sportfisherman chasing big fish...VERY big fish. Come share the excitement as the charter and private boats unload and weigh their catches!

In 2006, the winning halibut caught by Kevin Lincoln of North Pole, Alaska, weighed 343.6 pounds. The largest silver (coho) salmon was caught by Paula Groundwater of Valdez, Alaska, and weighed 18.42 pounds. There is no room in the cache for anything other than the log sheet and perhaps Where's George dollars, so bring your own writing utensil to sign the log. This is a very public area, so please to exercise your very best stealth moves when accessing and replacing the cache.

Note on cache maintenance:  Daddy Ladybug travels routinely to Valdez on business, but local cacher Roscoe Pyle has agreed to help with routine cache maintenance in the event of any problems requiring immediate attention.
