A small cache (beaker sized) suitable for small swaps, coins,
geocoins etc. located in the suburbs of Peterborough. The given
co-ordinates bring you to Nottcutts Garden Centre, which is less
than one mile from the cache as the crow flies, a place of both
horticultural and other more comestible delights. However, the
cache is not here......
The cache itself is a “cache and dash” once the puzzle
has been solved and is decidedly not at a horticultural high spot.
There is on-road parking nearby. Obviously care would be needed
with youngsters near roads. At no time is it necessary to venture
into private land or gardens. We experienced a variety of readings
on our GPS. We took an average but if in doubt follow the
hint… Before setting out you need to make sense of this
horticultural tale...................……
Rowan or Thuja made a great backdrop; also the Amalfi Veronica
interplanted with fragrant Woodbine. Heath Reeds and Lanarth Reeds
did very well in the marshy areas with Aquilegia Bufo, Ursinia,
Dahlias, even Dianthus and Viola “Little Elf” (Ivensis)
at the fore. Near the rocks Ewes Thyme lay in the dappled shade of
the Oregon Elm. Further afield, Rhododendron in Elder groves marked
the edge of the area. The sight was enough to gladden the heart.
Myself, I vented my delight with a loud “Yippee” when I
saw the splendiferous Ixia Hybrida adorning the view.

The cache is not situated in a garden but in an area that was
planted by the PDC when this area was built in the late 1980s.
