An easy-find cache on the Spring Vallely Loop Trail in Cliff Cave Park
This is an easy-find regular cache along the 3-mile Spring Valley Loop Trail (some signs say 2.3 miles) in Cliff Cave Park. The park is a gem in the St Louis County Parks system. The park is loaded with geologic features – River bluffs, sinkholes, springs and the namesake cave. A wonderful image trail map can be found at the County’s website (www.stlouisco.com/parks).
The cache is stocked with St Louis-themed items as well as the usual trinkets. Local folks, bring a St Louis item to leave for our visitors.
Park at the first parking area on your right. Trailhead is back up the road at N 38 27.542 W 090 17.551 Explore the spring and cave entrance first (cave can only be entered with advance permission). The trail is marked and is a moderately difficult hike up to the loop, which then flattens out.
Although you leave the main trail, there shouldnt be much bushwhacking. The cache borders an area that may be muggly on weekdays.
