A Series of Unfortunate Caches: The Bloody Burrow Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

chaosmanor: This one has been a real trooper, too! More than thirteen years, with the same container (in pretty good condition, too!) and the original logsheet: that's a record, as far as our caches go. Actually, that's two of them, as the two caches we archived today were hidden at the same time.

But all things end, eventually. Time to bid arrivederci! to this, and make way for new things to Find. Many thanks to those who kept coming out; hope you like our new ones

Geocache Description:

The names of the caches in this short series are inspired by the Lemony Snickett books that chronicle the adventures of the Baudelaire children. There isn't anything in this cache that is specifically related to the books; we just like their alliterative titles

NOTE: THIS IS A BIT TRICKY!!! PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION! WE SUPPOSE THAT YOU COULD CALL THIS AN OFFSET, SORT OF, MAYBE

This is one of a series of caches on a newish system of trails for which COSCA has recently taken over the maintenance. We helped do some work on this trail on the 2006 Trails Day, and came back the next day to hide a few caches on it. This trail used to be private, but it is now another public-use trail in the Dos Vientos area Did you know that at least a couple of COSCA rangers are active geocachers? BTW: we left room at either end of this series for one of the local Masters of Camo to hide one of their devious little surprises

Please check out the information in the Rotten Rooftops cache in this series for information about trailheads. If you use the parking waypoint that we gave, this is the last cache you'll come to. Conversely, it's the first one from the "future" TH near Via Cerro and Rancho Dos Vientos. When you reach the spot, you should see two animal holes in the hill, just a couple of feet from the trail. Sharon is pretty sure that they connect to the same burrow, probably that of a ground squirrel. Once you find these holes, pretend that you're Mr. or Mrs. Squirrel. When you poke your head out of your hole in the morning, you can look seven or eight feet across the trail, and see the general area where the cache is hiding

The cache is another camoed plastic container; it's smaller than the other such that we hid here. We seeded it with an Original Stash geopin and a Where's George dollar; the first two finders get them, if they wish. After this, any trade items left are purely up to you; trading isn't needed, but there's room for maybe a very small item, or one of the smaller geocoins. There is NO writing utensil inside, so please bring your own.

Hope you enjoy this "new" trail area
