Geocache Description:

FTF on this cache went to "maude & Hemy" of Hawthorne on 10-27-2006

Regular cache, 360 feet off highway with good parking for any size vehile.

If you are going way south on 95 make sure to grap my (Epicenter "Amargosa Valley") cache!

This cache is placed 2.75 miles WNW of the epicenter of a 5.7 earthquake that happened Aug 1, 1999. I lived in Amargosa at the time and it got me out of bed in a hurry. This area has had a good amount of activity over the years. Small quakes and aftershocks occur all the way down to the Jct. itself. I placed this cache here at a close point 95 comes to this 5.7's epicenter. Which was 37 23.400 117 04.800.

So when your at the cache site take a moment just to observe the valley and surrounding hills. Perhaps you'll get lucky and the hills will talk to ya.

(quake was 3.3 Miles NNE of this cache)

On April 4, 2008 at 12:59am there was a 3.2
(quake was a estimated 11 miles NE of cacahe)
this quake was on the other side of the hwy and
might be from a diffrenet fault system but same area

There was a 4.3, 3.2 and 3.4 quakes on 9-30-2010
All off Scotty's Castle highway just on the Nevada
side of the border. 37.143°N, 117.378°W
