Isabella de Fraine folly (Northland) Traditional Cache
Just Floundering: 9.45pm. After some 13 years and some 500 log entries I think I should leave this spectacular site to someone else to place a new cache. Good luck.

Approached along a fairly level track with spectacular coastal views. Suitable for family groups.
Many a fine ship t'was lost across this bar between turmoil and tranquility. Alas the Isabella de Fraine t'was one.
The Isabella de Fraine was an auxliiary schooner of 110 tons and 94 feet in length. She was engaged on coastal trade from Onehunga to Hokianga when on 14 July 1928 she entered across the bar only to capsize immediately thereafter with loss of all eight crew.
Bring a camera for this is surely one of the great vista's of New Zealand.
Cache is an ammo box painted in good camo colours and contained logbook pencil and sharpener as well as a selection of goodies including trackable book; tape of the soundtrack of Robin Hood and other trinket things.
