To enter Faulkner Canyon you will go through one gate, please close gate behind you, this area is BLM leased by a rancher, who has livestock in the area. And we all know leave the area cleaner than you found it......
While My Wife and I were out exploring the Faulkner Canyon Area, supposedly this was the area that Billy The Kid used to hide in at times. Us and our friends found a senic little offshoot to the main canyon, it has waterfalls (Rock ledges in the dry season) it is just a cool place to wander around. The Cache is a plastic mayonaise jar with a screw on lid, It has assorted little trade items, and a treat for those of you who are familiar with freeze dried goodies. Although this was put together in a hurry I forgot to put in a writing instrument, there is a log book and some shade with a view. I placed this high on the side of the arroya so it will never be subject to flash flooding. Evidence of how much water passes through these canyons and arroyas can be seen all around you as you make the journey. This cache is well off the normal beaten path, but I hope those of you who enjoy nature and solitude make this trip. Enjoy
