The Planetarium offers a unique visitor experience in Ireland being Ireland's only planetarium. The Armagh Science Centre consists of the famous Armagh Planetarium, Observatory, Star Theatre and Eartharium all set in a 25 acre AstroPark. There is an excellent exhibition centre and audio-visual shows providing the latest astronomical news and developments. The Planetarium houses the largest public telescope in the whole of Ireland, and the observatory dates from the 16th century. Start with a fascinating live multi-media presentation. Then tour the exhibition spaces and learn more about the exploration of space.
After all that exploration, you can relax in the Voyager Café or browse through the well stocked Space Gift Shop.
Outside stroll through a scale model of the Universe in the Astropark.
The cache is hidden in the Astropark. The planetarium has been recently reopened after being refurbished. It is an interesting place for all, particularly families, and can be enjoyed both indoors and out. There is a free carpark.
The cache is located 210 metres from the given co-ords in a direction opposite to where the sun sets at the mid-winter solstice, 21st December (with your back to this information).
PLEASE BRING OWN PENCIL and take extra care when replacing the cache that it isn't visible.
