Geocache Description:

Nice easy cache to be found on the way to Swampy Summit and the caches Swampy Spur and Swampy Summit.

It is located just off the leith valley saddle track at an altitude of 545m.

Initial Cache contents: Various New Zealand pre Oct. 2006 coins; Logbook and Pencils; American Geocoin.

This cache was called First Glimpse as when coming up the track this is your first glimpse of the awesome views on the City of Dunedin. It is now part of the Walkways of Otago series.
I definitely encourage you to walk to the top of Swampy Transmitter and complete two more caches on the way. For those that really keen walk on through to Flagstaff Hill.
