Franklin County Parks and Rec. Dept. has developed this location as a park on Smith Mountain Lake. It is directly across the lake from Smith Mountain Lake State Park, a stone's throw by water but quite a distance to drive.
This 37 acre park has picnic shelters, hiking trails, biking trails, beach area and ADA accessible fishing area.
When this cache was placed, we were still waiting in anticipation for the area to be developed. You can hike the trail around the island, walk your dog, or search for this cache. When you find the cache, which is located fairly close to the hiking trail, please re-cover it well. Thanks
