EZ access mountain cache...
O.K. you guys have spoken loud and clear...through silence and inactivity you have told me that summit caches are lonely entities in this geocaching community...
As I reflected on the roots of Geocaching in the anchorage area, it wasn't always this way. A majority of the original caches around town took us to beautiful remote areas of town others were sure to enjoy. This cache takes us back to our roots...finding areas that are amazingly beautiful and take a some effort to get to.
I like all aspects of geocaching, but my passion lies with exploration and discovery. This cache is not easy. There is a significant climb from the start...but it is well worth it. And the distances involved are not substantial. If you are just out for numbers, save your time and hit a few in town micros...but if you are looking to get out and see yet another pocket of anchorage that most of you have never been to...cache on! I tried to make it somewhat winter accessable. But beware of avalanche danger!
feel free to log a nearby survey marker...I have the coordinates to it if you want them, but it is just off the north nide of the hill.
Access to this cache can be tricky, but you can access it from bear valley (honeybear lane). Just make sure you park between the signs in the circle as the rest of it will anger the neighbors and the fire department. After the FTF posts, i will give coordinates to my parking spot. Oh, the FTF prize is a fancy Ak geocaching pin.
