Lexington Seed Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

khaytsus: Sad to say, but this one is gone this time. Emma and I went for a walk in the park here and looked for 15 minutes, didn't find it. We did see lots of squirrels and lots of potential hiding places for a replacement cache. [:D] Thanks for all of the visits!

Geocache Description:

This cache is hidden in Lakeside Park, a wooded area behind Henry Clay High School with heavily wooded areas with walking and riding paths. The cache is well hidden for muggler protection, and the terrain involves basic navigation through wooded areas.

This cache is intended to be a cache to seed other microcaches (and perhaps small caches in the future with a larger container!) for beginning geocachers in the area. My intent is for the cache to be well hidden and protected from mugglers but fairly easy to access for all.

What I'd like to see happen is our seasoned cachers dropping off microcaches and our newer folks picking them up. This way the new guys and gals have a selection of pre-made caches to check out. I'm hoping to see a mix of caches, such as nanos, bisons, film canister, tin boxes, anything you find as a clever container. If you like, you can even pick out what you think would be a good spot for the cache you're dropping off and camo the cache appropriately and leave a note with it with coordinates for suggested placement. I would also appreciate if folks could drop me a note with the waypoint of the seed so I can see how far they spread! I am maintaining a bookmark list of the "seed sprouts" caches at my Lexington Seed Cache Sprouts bookmark.

Please include logs with all caches, make them ready to be used! Also, if you think there's any accessories that could be useful, include them. Things such as fishing line, camo duct tape, etc.

Being a seed cache, I hope to maintain at least 2-3 microcaches in the container at any given time so please mark the cache as needing maintenance if it gets below 2!

Items originally placed in cache: Three LED eyeball keychains, waffle keychain doodad, one camo cloth taped match micro, one camo duct taped match micro, and one black bison tube, log book, and pen.

Will add hints later as I get more feedback on the cache.

Cache should be accessed from Manor Drive off of Lakeshore and keep in mind that the straightest path is not always the best, there are trails all through these woods and you should be able to navigate to the cache without any bushwacking. Boots are suggested, as some of the trails get muddy when it's recently rained.

Thanks for the permission to place the cache, LFUCG approval LP01.

Thanks to Paddy Yenar for donating the ammo can and congratulations for the FTF!
