Geocache Description:


If you have been in this area for any length of time you have seen many things come and go. What was here yesterday is something different or completely gone today. This being the case we thought it would be neat to do a series of hides reminiscing about the past and what “Use To Be”. We will start with five hides and if they receive a positive response we will add more. If you have any information or would like to add your own memories about the places highlighted in the hides please feel free to share them with us in your log. Also, if you know of any places and would like build off of the theme please feel free to do so.

I don’t remember it being an active airfield but I do remember the runway being there before the old Lowe’s building and apartments were built. Halmark Drive didn’t exist back then. There was a field between the old Lowe’s building and Eastern Blvd.

Cache is a camoed micro container that blends in with its surroundings very nicely. There is no room for a pencil so please bring something to sign the log with.
