Geocache Description:

A small cache in the woods on Vaxholm. Located just outside the town Vaxholm Wood is easily accessible.

July 2009: A note from the new owners:
Denna cache adopterades av oss i Juli 2009 från glacial och Chewie_sthlm. Den här serien var några av dom första cacher vi besökte varför vi känner lite extra för dom såklart. När vi nu fick en förfrågan att ta över dom två återstående cacherna var svaret självklart för oss. Vi hoppas att dom därmed får leva vidare och inspirera andra till att fortsätta med geocaching.

In English: This cache was originally placed by glacial and Chewie_sthlm. We adopted the cache in July-09. This series of caches were among the first caches we ever visited and therefore hold a special place in our hearts. When we were asked if we could continue to maintain the last two remaining caches the answer was obvious. We hope that they will continue to live for many years and continue to inspire people to keep on geocaching.

The cache is inspired by one we found just outside Quebec- we were so impressed we copied the idea. The original is Ti-Pit-08 placed out by Équipe Loup.

The Cache

Our cache is about 1 km from the harbour in Vaxholm. It is in some woods but quite near a road. The cache should be quite obvious: the coordinates given are accurate to within about 4 m.
NB. The cache location is accessible to strollers (pushchairs) and to wheelchairs. Original contents were: an alien, a reflector, 10 Guilders, a pencil and a travel bug ( called Hajen).However, wheelchair users will not be able to collect the cache without assistance.

Vaxholm

Vaxholm is a picturesque town easily accessible by boat or bus from Stockholm. The harbour is dominated by the 19th century fortress that is now an attractive Bed and Breakfast and conference facility. A museum, also on the fortress island, is open in summer. The town has restaurants, cafes and other amenities. We particularly recommend the coastal walk past the Hembygdsgård (a museum).
The town of Vaxholm and it's surrounds are home to three other caches we've placed out. Vaxholm Stones, Vaxholm Water and Vaxholm Metal are intended to encourage you to explore the town a little. Cachen är i skogen utanför stan, ca 1 km från hamnen. Detta är en stulen idé från en cache som vi hittade utanför Quebec City, Ti-Pit-08 placed out av Équipe Loup.
Cachen innehåller utomjording, penna, 10 Guilder, och travel bug 'Hajen'.
Denna cache är en av fyra i vår Vaxholms serie, de andra är Vaxholm Stenar, Vaxholm Metall & Vaxholm Vatten. Vi vill bara få er att upptäcka denna pittoreska skärgårds stad.
