Geocache Description:

Part of my Tree Hugger Series. I love trees. I might've been a Tree Sitting Protestor if the developer had threatened to cut down this gorgeous tree. For about a year I've wanted to put a cache here just to show off this beauty.

This area was the site of the former Boys Training School on the Howard Reservation with the rather forbidding looking Victorian Gothic buildings that were used as dormitories. There were human bones discovered near the site in June 2006. It's unclear whether or not they belonged to one of the boys from the training school.

There are some interesting stories here: History and Anecdotes

You don't need to go beyond the *chain link fence*.

If trees could scream, would we be so cavalier about cutting them down? We might, if they screamed all the time, for no good reason. - Jack Handey
