The Well of Madness

WARNING...WARNING...WARNING

This is a tough cache to get and one that you must be prepared for...if you are clausterphobic in the least bit, afraid of being buried alive by hoards of the undead, do not have an iron will and climbing skills, afraid of being underground in water for hours, days, and even months, do not attempt this cache. Only attempt in good weather and use common sense. This cache was put up by Darkmoon, Kand & Spearfox, of the Oklahoma Hardcore Cachers group and represents some of the new caches that are coming out for those who are looking for a challange.

The skys turned dark as we looked for the old Hyster ruins, the place were old man Hyster would experiment with the dead and try to bring them to life. The old 4X4 trail was rutted and filled with soft sand and we were hoping to find it before the rains came, turning this little used trail into a messy red quagmire that would suck my truck down. Finally after spotting a very steep and rough trail (good eyes Spearfox & Kand) going what looked like straight up the hill, we decided to try it. The truck slipped on th erocks and spinned tires but finally my green beast made it. Soon the trail took some narrow twists and turns and before you knew it, we were standing in front of the old homestead. Carefully getting out, we started to explore, looking for the treasure that has been reported to be worth in the millions and of course any remains of his inhumane experiments!

As we were exploring, Spearfox said did you hear that? Looking at each other we dismissed it as wind so we all split up again . As I was talking to Kand, we heard Spearfox yell so up the small hill we ran to find him. I saw something move down there he said, as he pointed to the area of once could have been the lab, or the area to dispose of the body parts. As we peered into the murky darkness, we could hear strange and unhuman sounds. Getting some climbing gear out of my truck, Kand volunteered to go down. Soon we couldn't see him but he was talking so we could hear him. That is when he found it ! I heard him say Oh My God, get me out of here so me and Spearfox scrambled to get him back up! Once up top, he was saying what was in the box was best left there. He was shaken and understandably so. The evilness of this area was like a glove trying to close around us so we agreed to leave, leaving the coordinates for any adventurer to try his luck and bravery.

You are looking for a 50 caliber ammo can done up in a Darkmoon Stealth paintjob and hidden here, very securely for any adventurers. But be warned, this is a tough cache to get and is not for the squimish, clausterphobic or afraid of heights! There is hazards around so be sure of your skill level and we do not recommend doing this one alone, take a partner! The road we took in required a 4X4 and though we found an easier path, the gate is not guarenteed to be unlocked. You do not have to cross any private property to get to this cache. A lot of research will show you th eproper way.This is for the true adventure cacher to do something a little different from the norm. And no, you do have to find the cache and sign the logbook to log this, no other way! Good luck and watch for the First to Find!
