Travel Bug Rest Stop and Exchange Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

ohjoy!: Time to give up on this one - I will replace it close by in the near future. I will continue to try to work with the person who illegally removed the cache container so that I can get it and the TBs returned.

How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

I believe that travel bugs should be free to move as often and far as needed. I oppose travel bug hotels/jails/traps that require a minimum number of TBs to be present at all times. This defeats the purpose of being able to move a bug to help it attain its goal.

I am calling this cache a Travel Bug Rest Stop because those are places that are easy to get off and back onto highways and they don’t require you to stay any longer than you want to be there.

Obviously, this cache has no minimum number requirement.

I challenge all owners of bug hotel type caches to a grand experiment. Remove the minimum requirement from your cache for 6 months to see what happens.

Rules? Oh yes:
1. Please do not take a bug unless you will be helping it to reach its goal.
2. Please do not drop a bug from this cache into a bug hotel that has minimum requirements.

Suggestions? Sure:
1. Were you happy to find bugs when you got to this cache? If so, please consider dropping some off when you have them for others to find when they visit.
2. You’re headed south or north and you have a bug that wants to go the opposite direction? This is the perfect spot to leave it.
3. Use the forms found in the cache to list a bug’s goal if that is not already found with the bug. (Let me know when more are needed.)
4. Use the plastic bags found in the cache to enclose the bug’s goal with the bug. (Let me know when more are needed.)

Directions:
For those who know the area, the cache is just outside the entrance to the Nisqually Wildlife Refuge.

Heading south on I-5 – take exit 114 and turn right at the bottom of the ramp. The cache is at the end of that short street – about 0.2 mile. Getting back onto the freeway is easy because the cache is near the bottom of the on-ramp.

Heading north on I-5 – take exit 114 and turn left at the bottom of the ramp. The cache is at the end of that short street – just over 0.1 mile. To get back onto the freeway, backtrack past the exit ramp to the traffic light (about 0.2 mile) and turn left onto the on-ramp.

Parking? During daylight hours, pull just inside the gates to the Nisqually Wildlife Refuge. When the gates are closed, pull right up to them.

An offer:
If you are traveling out of state, post a note that you will pick up TBs that you could help on a certain date. Those watching can then drop off any bugs you can help in the cache with your name on them. Alaska and Hawaii are common TB requests.

!!TRAVEL OPPORTUNITY!!
ohjoy! will be traveling to Michigan and North Carolina in May, picking up caches along the way. She will get any bug/coin closer to its goal if they want to leave the West Coast.

THE SUPER CACHER GEOCOIN IS NOT IN THE AMMO CAN. LOOK FOR IT HANGING NEXT TO THE AMMO CAN.
