Fourth in the series of
Adelaide Hills Wineries
The Adelaide Hills cool climate is ideal
for growing Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and cool crisp
Chardonnay.
These are the predominant varieties grown successfully and proudly
throughout the region.
Other grape varieties grown in the region include Merlot, Shiraz,
Semillon and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Hills vignerons are also experimenting with some of the rarer
varieties in Australia
Trollinger and Lemberger grapes from Germany, and Italian
varieties Arneis, Sangiovese and Nebbiolo.
From the Winemaker of the featured
Winery
"enjoy delightful views over a
northerly facing panorama of rolling vines,
apples and cherry orchards disappearing into Eucalyptus
bushland,
while you taste our Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling and Sauvignon
Blanc wines."
Vineyard establishment commenced in 1992 and is owned,
developed and operated by Alan Herath and Jan Reed.
The small Vineyard is hand nurtured, picked and pruned with wine
complexity
and style starting in the vineyard, based on a wide variety of
selected grape types, soils and slopes.
