Geocache Description:

Drive to within a short stone's throw. Walk on the level with grass under foot.

Look for Maria Breneman who died March 22, 1788. She is resting beside her husband Abraham who was the one who donated the land to be used for this purpose. Notice that the older folks in this area are all facing exactly east. This has been a long tradition, but at some later date the younger folks started to align themselves with the property boundaries. You may also be interested to know that for most married folks, the wife rests to the left side of the husband. This is not the case for Maria and Abraham. Maria has been resting here longer than anyone else in this area. As you are looking at her, you will find the cache to the right, between her and Abraham. The original contents included a log book, pencil, five Susan B. Anthony coins (one for each of the first 5 finders), numerous foreign coins, a seatbelt snapper toy, a carabiner compass, and a key chain. The container is small, so put the log back first then the other items will fit around it. This cache was placed on the eve of All Saints Day. Happy hunting. Beware of mugglers. It is not unusual to see community persons or children in this area.

NOTE: When I placed this cache here in October 2006, I had no idea that Maria was my great, great, great, great, great, grandmother. Recently while looking in a geneology book about Brenemans, I found my own mother's name and discovered that I am a direct 7th generation descendant of Maria and Abraham. What an interesting surprise!!!
