This kids park is themed after the local fossils and rocks of the area. Bring your kids here for an education and some time to play.
This park was built to both educate and entertain. The hardscape of the park contains a variety of fossils (mostly replicas, but some real) that can touched and examined. Some of the play equipment incorporates replica fossils and pictures of animals that were found in the area.
The coordinates bring you to an educational display (slightly overgrown by the landscaping) that describes the individual fossils and rocks found in the park. On the other side is a series of pictures that show what the local area was like during the past few million years.
Logging requirements:
Send me a note with :
- The text "GCZ5EZ Fossil Park" on the first line
- The number of people in your group.
- Find the one fossil that doesn’t belong at the park. Send me a note with the name of the fossil, it’s location in the park and explain why it doesn’t fit in with the rest of the fossils at the park.
Logs with photos of the fossil in question will be deleted. Related earthcaches of the area include Mission Viejo Whale Fossil and Pectin Reef - Aliso Viejo.
