Geocache Description:

flat road side pull off accross from a cow pasture.

The cache is hidden at the coordinates on the same side of the road you park your vehicle on. The cow pasture accross the road is only speacial because it used to have a portion of the Port Townsend transcontinental railway running through it. If you travel north of the parking spot about 1/10 of a mile and look east you will see what is left of the old rail bed passing between to oak trees. At that point it be came a low trestle crossing the pasture because the pasture floods in the winter and then headed down into town passing through what is now the high school. If you go to the front of the high school and look SE you will see an oddly placed side walk crossing a vacant lot. This side walk is placed on or along side of what used to be the old rail bed also. If you draw an imaginary linefrom this side walk to the rail bed up in the cow pasture you have a rough idea of how the rail line entered town.
