This is a small size cache, 350ml clip lock box containing Log Book, Pen and Swaps. It is hidden at a place called "Greatwood Quay" which overlooks the Carrick Roads and Mylor Royal Naval Dockyard. The dockyard was commissioned by the Admiralty in 1805. In 1866 saw the arrival of the HMS Ganges as a training ship for Boy Sailors who had to be able to read and write and aged between 15 and 17 years. The ship was moored at St Just pool and could accommodate up to 500 boys, but life for these boys was harsh and brutal, and 53 of them died whilst in training. A short distance away is Greatwood House. This large residence was built in 1840 by Philip Daniel the 8th son of Ralph Daniel a Truro Merchant and Smelter. The house is now converted into 7 flats. During a Storm in November 1968, the original "Six Brothers" a Falmouth working boat, built in 1920 and used for Oyster dredging was tragically wrecked on Greatwood Quay. Free parking for up to 10 cars is available at Mill Quay, which is off the main street, down Trevellan Rd and pass the Post Office. At N50' 11.016 W005' 04.516
