Geocache Description:

I am dedicating this cache to my favorite tour guide - Wingate Lassiter, the curator of the Johnston County Heritage Center.

I am lucky enough to be one of the instructors of a great workshop for educators.... the workshop has a myriad of wonderful activities that incorporate technology. One of the best parts of the workshop is the field study. We get out and explore how our community can enhance our curriculum and bring all the subjects together. Mr. Lassiter, has been our guide for a wonderful stroll in historic downtown Smithfield during each field study (which begins at the Heritage Museum). While out in the community some of the workshop participants get a chance to explore the curriculum implications of using Geocaching in the classroom. It is my hope that they and other geocachers will enjoy this cache. I am starting this cache with the following items: a CITO geocoin, (ready to be activated) a small bottle of bubbles, a skateboarding figurine, Gordan's Quest TB, a six flags game, a hotwheels car, and a small logbook. Hope you enjoy the hunt.
