Hangin' Out With The Scouts Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

lasermom: I went out today to check on this one. The terrain is not pleasant with the very high weeds and mosquitos. I didn't get close enough to see if this one had disappeared for the third or fourth time. I'm reluctantly archiving it and maybe doing something else in the area.

Geocache Description:

The cache is hangin' around in the wooded area back of the green Scout cabin at Monmouth Park. Permission was obtained from Mark Gladfelter, chairman of the Monmouth Park Board. The manager of Gibson Woods Golf Course requests that you not pick up any of their golf balls. There should be none in the immediate area of the cache. Thanks.

Although it is not marked as such, the green cabin is for the enjoyment of Scouts and their leaders. As a Girl Scout in the 50s, I have fond memories of overnights here. All three of my sons were Boy Scouts and winter camped here many times. Now my grandson is a Scout and a camping and fishing enthusiast. The timber out back of the cabin is the hiding place of a large camo green micro hanging by a cord. It contains a log sheet, golf pencil and a Boy Scout Council patch. Scouts like to trade and collect them. You don't have to be a Scout to hunt this cache or keep the patch. The container has room for tiny items.

CONGRATS TO HALLSWEEPER ON BEING FTF.
