HIDDEN HISTORY OF HUNTINGTON #6:
PICK A CORNER

This series of caches is dedicated to the history of Huntington, Indiana.
I couldn't decide which historic reference to use for this cache, so I just figured to include them all.

Across the street to the West of this cache is the old Huntington Opera House which was opened in 1881. Performances were held on the second floor, while the first floor housed several businesses.

Crossing the street to the North would take you to where the Phyleen Candy Company once stood. Originally brought over from Wabash by Emmett & Richard McGreevy, the company employed 30 workers who were working day and night to fill orders that were coming in from Ohio, Michigan, Illinois & Indiana. They eventually had to expand to a new facility at Indiana & Sherman Street which in turn created another 100 new jobs in 1926.

Diagonally to the Northwest sits the old U.S. Post Office building that was constructed in 1916.

The container only has room for the log sheet, so please BYOP.
