Geocache Description:

This is the third in a series of caches designed to counter the growing epidemic of micros. This cache is located on Southwest Florida Water Management District property in the Chassahowitzka Coastal Swamp. It is open to the public during daylight hours. Access to the cache is through State Forest land. This access is blocked from March 17 - 23 and March 31 through April 6, 2007. The trails are bike, hike and kid friendly. You can download a map of this area here.
How to get there: From US19 at N28°44.695' / W082°33.188', head west on Burnt Bridge Road. Travel 1.8 miles to parking at N28°45.579' / W082°34.528'.
Please be advised that this is an actual cache. It is not a magnetic hide-a-key. It is not a 35mm film canister. It is a watertight ammo can. You may be surprised to find that the log is actually dry and the pen is full-sized. To find this cache, you will actually have to get out of your car. You will actually have to walk down a trail. You will not have to avoid mall security, and there are no muggles... only squirrels. This cache will take more than 3 minutes to complete. When you are done, you will have actually accomplished something worthwhile. You will have exercised. You will have spent quality time with your kids or your friends. You will have discovered a new place you never knew existed. You will not have looked really stupid on the parking lot security camera.
See what geocaching was like before "lazy" and "micro" infected the sport. Inoculate yourself now before it's too late! Find this cache and restore integrity to geocaching.
This is what a real geocache container looks like. It is not Tupperware. It is not a pretzel jar. It is an ammo can, available at the Army-Navy store for about $5.00. It will keep your log and travel bugs dry. It will keep curious raccoons at bay.
