This cache is temporarily unavailable.

SearchNSeekNEnjoy: Hello dphansen,

This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit. Please check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines for more info.

I've added this cache to my watchlist and ill check back to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.

Whatever your intention, please post a note here on the cache page (not email) to let the community know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If 31 days pass without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.

Thank you,
SearchNSeekNEnjoy

Geocache Description:

Cache Summary

This Cache is best accomplished by parking at the coords provided below along Ware Road (AKA Whiskey Hill) in Palmer. Parking is on the right side of the road when traveling on Ware Rd in the Southerly direction. ATVs frequent the paths along the high tension wires. Hike begins easy but includes a fair amount of steep and rocky grades. Round trip to this cache is about 1 mile.

Introduction

This is another cache in the "Return to Tradition" series started by Bubba Riley with "Return to Tradition #1: Burnt Out", and continued by several other cachers. There are no tricky puzzles to solve, no tiny micros to find – just a pleasant walk in the woods, with the reward of a nicely-stocked ammo can along the way.

The Story

Not a lot to tell you about this spot other than I found it over 15 years ago and only recently have returned. From what I remember, I don't think this spot has changed a bit in 15 years... You won't be disappointed spending some time out here.

Pulpit Rock got it's name only recently. My friend Mark (not a Geocacher yet) from Warren named it such 15+ years ago. Check out the front of the rock and how it appears to have been positioned here. If you look carefully you can find the place from the cliff face that the rock came from.

One of the goals of this cache for you (besides locating the cache) is to find something very interesting about this area and capture what it is you found interesting, why you think it is interesting and a waypoint so that other cachers can find the location. Publish your find if appropriate via a photo upload to your log and include the waypoint. I will take some of the ones I find more interesting and publish them in the waypoint list associated with this cache listing. Check out the ones I have included.

I will soon launch a "sister cache" to this one in the same general area. These two new caches combined with The Colonel's Cache (GCGWJM) should make for an interesting series. If you haven't yet accomplished The Colonel's Cache by Dosido, I highly recommend it. It was my very first cache and still ramains as one of my favorites.

Now the only question remaining... Where is that cache? First to find prize is an official Geocaching.com license plate frame. This prize was a little too large to fit into the ammo box but I assure you that you will have no problems locating it.

I think you may find the hide rather unique. At least to my experience it is... I already had to repair it once even before I opened it. I told myself not to paint it until I glued it... did I listen to me? No... Please return the cache to the original stealthy way in which it was placed... Do not park on the road leading to the high tension wires.
