Geocache Description:

"New Twist" is a gateway to a famous and fabulous trail network that gets better every year.

Twister is singletrack! A Halloween-like corn maze of dirt and manzanita. Venture to "New Twist" and then take a spin on this maze of trails that keeps expanding.

You can start on Middle Creek Road or the River Trail and come up the Jump Trail, past "Airborn" or up "Bagpipe Gulch".

Hiking? Have fun. Bike riding, if you come from the river trail, the easiest path is via Bagpipe Gulch. From Middle Creek road, the ride is fairly smooth, up and down, classic, twisted singletrack.

Not recommended at night . . . Be aware, this "wild world" we live in is home to many critters. As a rule, I would visit this and all of our local wilderness caches, with someone and during the day. In recent years, near this end of the River Trail, I have seen snakes, a bear and a bobcat, usually near dusk or on night rides. Read the early logs to learn of a close encounter during a night ride by Desert (B) Rats!

You will not have to leave the trail to get "New Twist". The smaller Nalgene container blends very well with the dark leaves that might be covering it. Please recover most of the cache and DO cover the white of the lid where the paint is flaking off.

It's all about the journey . . . MtnMike
