Dob Park Bridge Cache Traditional Cache
fat boy slow: Apologies to those who had to post a dnf but due to illness I had not been able to check on reports that the hiding place had been hidden under a pile of cuttings.
Having now received a picture I realise it is much worse than I thought so I am archiving this cache as I can't see it be accessible any time soon.
This will also free up the bridge in case any one else feels like placing a cache in the area.

At the bottom of the Washburn Valley, an easy approach but a steep
climb back whichever way you go
This bridge is an old packhorse bridge, I am not sure how old. It's
certainly not one of the oldest but it's been around a fair while.
I first discovered it a lot of years ago when out with some
mountain biking friends, in summer any newbie rider had to tryto
cross the ford without falling off, no mean feat as it's very rough
under that water. The brave ( or foolhardy ) among the club would
try to get across in winter as well, many ended up getting a
freezing cold bath for their troubles...Oddly enough this bridge is
not ( as far as I can see ) listed as an ancient monument although
another item nearby is:- After finding the cache go look for the
Cup marked rock 42m W of gate near Dob Park Bridge, adjacent to
track on S bank of River Washburn SE19565086. This cache will not
be easy to find as GPS coverage in the bottom of the valley is
erratic to say the least but once in the area an experienced cacher
should be able to find it fairly easily. Enjoy the walk back out,
oh and you can't park all that close to this so think about where
you do park and don't block the narrow country lanes please.
