Geocache Description:

A quick road side cache.

This one's a clone of The Gateway - a cache set for The Gathering in The Glens.  (Even the page is a clone)

This is a small cache containing the usual selection of swaps.

This cache is located close to an ancient way marker known as The Gateway. Its exact age is unknown, but this beautiful grey hued rock certainly looks very old. The crude symbology of the well defined carving seems to show a bird carrying something in its claws. Although not marked on canmap, the beautiful craftmanship of the time on this stone indicate that this stone was very important to those who placed it. For what reason we may never know - we can only speculate. Tales in the Glen suggest that this rock may have magical properties. Some have felt vibrations when they have touched this stone. others say its just supernatural nonsense. When setting the cache I certainly felt a malevolent presence nearby.

Im sure you will appreciate the uniqueness of this stone - please share any strange experiences when at the cache site.

Please treat this stone with respect. It has stood in this position for a long time. Many of the pictish stones in the area have ended up as museum pieces - it would be good to keep this one in situ.
