Geocache Description:


This site was my first petroglyph find. Not knowing that the American southwest (and the world for that matter) is dotted with petroglyph sites, I thought I had made a major discovery. I was soon humbled, but found a great new hobby as I roam the desert looking for and finding petroglyph sites. I've already found a couple sites within Phoenix that the city archaeololgist's office wasn't aware of. Please show a little respect and don't touch the glyphs.

The container is under a couple of small rocks, is black, and contains the following items:

Pooka Shell Turtle
Peppermint Oil
Star Wars Watch
Token from a local Car Wash
Heard Museum Pewter Keychain
A Squished Penny Souvenir that I got from the UFO Museum in Roswell, NM.

**UPDATE**

I've talked to a few people as they came down the mountain, and heard about how they've struggled with the terrain. When I placed this cache, it was my hope that people would follow the road up around the mountain as opposed to approaching directly from the west. Look at the cache in Google Maps satellite view and it'll make more sense.
