Geocache Description:

Fourth in a series of 12 caches representing the required Merit Badges that a boy must earn on his way to achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. Eagle Scout is the highest rank that a youth can earn in the Scouting program. When all 12 caches have been placed we will have a permanent Travel Bug that you can discover to complete your Eagle Project.

A Scout may choose to earn Swimming or Hiking or Cycling to complete this merit badge requirement. By the time a boy earns the Swimming merit badge he has acquired very strong swimming skills and is knowledgeable about:

  • First aid for injuries or illnesses that could occur while swimming
  • CPR - know when it should be administered and how to do it correctly
  • Safe swimming precautions
  • Water rescue methods

Initial cache contents are various items that could be associated with swimming. Cache is in a cammo'd Costco-type nut container. A pedestrian access gate is near N42 37.871 W83 06.100; you can enter the park on foot for free. If you choose to drive into the park it will cost $4 to $10 depending on residency. Plan on taking the time to enjoy a stroll along the lake. Park hours are 10AM to dusk.
