Morgan Chapel Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

lpyankeefan: This cache has had a very successful run, but alas, it's time to bid this one adieu. Parting is such sweet sorrow.

Many thanks to those who took the time to visit the final resting place of Col. Morgan Morgan. In the meantime, I'm archiving this one to allow Morgan's Marauders to place a new cache here. Hope to see it soon! [:D]

Geocache Description:

Part of the Col. Morgan Series.

This is the site of West Virginia's first Episcopal Anglican Church, started in 1740 by Colonel Morgan Morgan, Dr. John Briscoe and Jacob Hite. The present building, built in 1851, is the third church on the site.

Colonel Morgan Morgan and many other early settlers are buried in the churchyard. To find this cache you will need to visit the grave of Col. Morgan Morgan and his wife Catherine Garretson.

At the above coordinates you will find a stone marker that marks the final resting place of the Colonel and his wife. Using information gleaned from the marker you will find the cache at the following coordinates:

N 39* AB.BCD W 078* BE.FGG

Where-

A = The final digit in the year of Col. Morgan's birth minus the final digit in the year of Col. Morgan's death.

B = The day of Catherine Garretson's birth minus the day of Catherine Garretson's death.

C = The day of Col. Morgan's birth.

D = The second digit in the year of Catherine Garretson's birth.

E = The final digit in the year of Catherine Garretson's death.

F = The final digit of the year of Col. Morgan's birth divided by two.

G = The third digit of the year of Catherine Garretson's death.

The cache you seek is a micro in size containing nothing more than a stash note and a few logsheets so please BYOP.

Please note that as this is a place of historical value visitors are allowed, but please remember that respect of your surroundings and those interred here is paramount. Animals are not permitted, so please cache accordingly. Parking is provided at the front of the property and a short walk across the graveyard is all that is necessary to find the cache.

Shared FTF honors go to xraytonkaNsons and njbargirlandboys!!! Congratulations you all!!!
