"Take Me Out to the Hollowsuite" Traditional Cache

Scrudder: You know, six years is a pretty good run for a hollowed out log. The concrete step stone that I'd put it on dissappeared after a year and a half, yet the cache has weathered surprisingly well. Replacing the container is an option, but this was one of the first of this style I put together, and have since come up with new ideas in the desing. Besides, I've got an idea for a replacement, but am thinking that I might need to relocate to a different area nearby. Thanks to all that enjoyed this cache, my apologies to all that had to log a DNF and never got the smiley.

Geocache Description:

This is a well camoed peanut butter container hidden in McInnish Park.

Early on in the last season of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, a former classmate of Captain Sisko's arrives on the station. The classmate is also a captain of a Vulcan space ship that is in need of repairs...

Okay, let's make this short, if possible. The Vulcan captain challenges Sisko to a baseball game because he thinks his crew is the best. Sisko accepts, knowing that his crew doesn't even know the game. On game day, both teams enter a holosuite with a baseball field program, and the game begins. In the bottom of the ninth and a score of 10-0, Nog (a Ferengi) makes it to third base. By now Sisko realizes that the crew's feelings are more important than the game, so he gets Rom (another Ferengi, Nog's Dad) up to bat. Rom hits the perfect bunt which allows his son to come in and score. The game ends at this point simply because of the DS9 crew's celebration over scoring a run.

I know that I'm addicted to geocaching because I've gone out a lot this past summer. I've had trouble finding some caches, and a few of them have been frustrating to me. I've spent so much time doing this, in fact, that both the older kids don't want to go out as often, and Scrudwoman has been known to let me go out on my own. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy caching by myself, but I have come to realize that it is much more fun with another cacher, or a group. Near the end of the summer I went out with a group to cache in Rowlette, where we called ourselves "Team Cave". Now that day we ALL had fun. Everybody was finding them, some of them were harder than others. I don't think we spent much time searching for any one cache simply because of the number of people on hunt that day. But I did notice that the people who thought they had less experience were coming up with the given cache container just as quickly as the more experienced cachers.

This cache is to celebrate geocaching, baseball, hobbies, crafts, teamwork, and friends. You will be looking for a very well camoed peanut butter jar. I do ask that you be careful with the lid, and make sure it is screwed back on the jar correctly. There are trade items in the container related to the baseball theme. There is also an FTF prize sitting in the top of the container. Please hide the container the same or better than you find it, so the next cacher / team can enjoy the hunt as well.

At the end of the episode, the DS9 crew is celebrating, and the Vulcan Captain accuses them of "manufacturing a triumph". Team DS9 toasts’ their drinks to "manufactured triumphs". When you find this cache, make sure you (and your team if you're caching with one) celebrate the find. Later when you post your find log please tell us about the celebration.
