Geocache Description:

This site is the remains of an old water treatment facility used by Camp Murphy. The camp included over 1,000 buildings and housed more than 6,000 officers and soldiers. The camp was deactivated in 1944 after less than two years of operation. All but three of the camp buildings have been torn down or removed but some of the building foundations remain.

One day RNRGRL and I wanted to know where they got the water for this Treatment facility so we followed the trail to the river and saw the remains of the concrete pipes they used. The pipes are lying right next to the trail all the way to the river.

You will find a bonus cache in the logbook. The coordinates will take you to an old cache that remains out there from 2002. I stumbled on it by accident one day looking for a place to hide a cache.
