Geocache Description:

This regular size cache is hidden with the usual logbook, pencil and info sheet, and is about 22m off the “Comin’ Round the Mountain Trail” in Kalamalka Provincial Park. Follow Cousens Bay Road (off of Coldstream Creek Road) to the parking lot and hike about 500 metres to the cache!

Enjoy the picturesque view of the Coldstream Valley as you look towards Camel’s Hump. Closer and to the right of that geographical backdrop to Lumby is another mountain with a bald spot. That is the location of another geocache called “Baldy” (GCJMQM)which gives you an outstanding view. It’s also one of the launching areas for local hang gliders/paragliders. (It’s a very worthwhile cache to do and only about a 300m hike if I remember correctly.

An article from the Provincial Archives in Victoria dated 1867 makes reference to the “Camel’s Back”. The early gold rush miners moving northward through the Okanagan Valley used camels as pack animals, and since the mountain bears a striking resemblance to the twin humps of the bactarian camel, it is easy to see why the miners named this Camel’s Hump.

The original contents contain directions to the FTF prize (which is another ammo box), measuring cups, 2 rolls of cammo tape, elec. tape, toy dino puzzle, christmas toy & other fun stuff.
