A not too difficult, two-stage multi located in Banning Park. This is a Theme Cache
Suggested coordinates taking you to the parking area are:
N 39.43.279
W 075.35.256
Difficulty level is due to 1st stage and the many muggles in this part of the park.
In this park this past summer a dear friend of ours trapped over 20 feral cats and kittens with the help of the organization Forgotten Cats, Inc. This cache is a tribute to this fine organization and to the many cats and kittens that have found wonderful safe homes because of their work.
Forgotten Cats is an all volunteer trap/spay/neuter/release rescue group for feral cats and kittens. All of the felines rescued by this group receive veterinary medical treatments for any health issues. Cats are spayed or neutered, de-fleaed, given worm and tick medicine, given a rabies shot, the FVRCP vaccine and, in most cases, the follow up booster. Adult cats are released back into their colony or are placed as barn cats with compassionate caregivers. Kittens are fostered by our many foster homes to be socialized. When they are ready they are then placed at either the Brandywine or Christiana Petsmart for adoption.
It should be noted that the first cache placed in Banning Park, Figment’s Folly by Brianslost, was in honor of Brian’s cat Figment. Figment’s Folly has since been taken down. With the placing of this cache we are happy to continue this legacy of adoration of the feline species.
The cache is a two part multi, once you locate the first part, the second part should be very easy to find.
The first part is small and unusual. It contains the coordinates to the second part. When you find it, be gentle. The “top” will unscrew.
The second part is an ammo can full of wonderful cat toys. The initial stock included a wand toy, some soft shiny plush balls, some plastic belled balls, and lots of furry little mice. We have included a nice first to find that you may use to help with your pet care if you so chose.
Almost all parts of this cache are out in the open areas of the park. This is a busy place be sure to check for muggles before making any "grabs".
Now about that name…
This cache is projected to be the first in a series of caches. The names of all these caches will begin as this one does. Why? That’s for you to discover. When you have completed two or three of the series you may notice what all these caches have in common. Then you’ll know why this series is called Johnny Cache…
Happy Caching.
