Located in Thunderbird Park
Putzies is a family name we gave to the small ground squirrels in the desert. I noticed a few of these furry little creatures while out caching and as I watched them play I decided to name a cache after them.
I found a couple of caches in this area and really liked the hike. So, I decided to put my own cache here. This cache has no theme of anything in particular just the normal small swag items.
Hope you enjoy the area as much as I did.
This is a regular cache with room for small trade items. The cache is a “small 8oz.” tin containere.
Replaced the original container 8-12-08
New log sheet and pencil.
11-7-08 I received a notice that Playin’ with the Putzies needed maintenance. I went to the cache site and found all was in pretty good shape thanks to PrettyGoodeLife and AzScamp. The co-ordinance was still very close and Yes the lid is pretty tight. But after the cache was displaced as far as AzScamp and PrettyhGoodLife observed and after the last container was destroyed by the elements a good tight lid is really needed.
It was getting pretty dark and the poor little cache was getting scared so I re-placed him next to a very tall desert “Tree” and covered him with some rocks to keep him warm and to keep him from wandering around again. I have updated the co-ordinance to reflect the shift.
