Geocache Description:

Wally Schang, our Town of Wales Baseball Star grew up on this road at the family farm. Most baseball historians agree that Wally Schang was the greatest offensive catcher of the World War I era. He played Major League Baseball from 1913 to 1931 with the Philadelphia Athletics, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, St. Louis Browns and Detroit Tigers. Wally was a switch-hitter and threw right-handed.

The family farms on this road have disappeared and are being replaced with rural residential homes.
If you follow this road, you will have great views of the countryside and be puzzled by the directions that the road takes – and the change in name at the county line.
