LAND OF THE WICKER PEOPLE
Long ago, an advanced civilization thrived along the banks of what is today known as Nine Mile Creek. These ancient people created everything they had from the local shrubbery. Their tables, their chairs, their two-story homes with attached 3-car garages – all intricately woven from sticks and branches found in the nearby forest.
Today, the Wicker People are but a historical footnote. But some remnants of their great works are still visible in this vicinity.
This cache is one of several located in the City of Bloomington’s fabulous Marsh Lake Park. The park covers over 500 acres. It features the sparkling Nine Mile Creek, wood-chip trails through natural environment, an archery range, and plenty of flora and fauna.
