Desert scrub with gullies and arroyo's. Lots of Gravel and rocks. Wild critters abound.
This is located 3+ miles east of the Florence military reservation, and 9+ miles from highway 79. Cache location is 15 to 30 minutes off of a Dirt road depending on hiking abilities. Terrain is Desert scrub with gullies and arroyos/washes. Lots of Gravel and rocks. 4x4 not required but any truck SUV or jeep can make it. The area it is placed in is open to the public 24/7 Most people in the area will be offroaders on ATV's and motorcycles, some campers, bird watchers (This would be a good place to go if you bird watch), and hunters. The area is quite green and pretty in late winter and spring time. The View of the mountains around the area is quite good. You can also see Florence from the cache.
Normal precautions for desert hiking should be adhered to. Observe the sign as you enter the gate but don't let it scare you. Don't break your leg like my brother did out in the same area on 11-13-05. The entrance to the FMR is located at N33 07.653 W111 21.584. just off of US79.
