Geocache Description:

(Daylight caching only !)This is a historical site in the Town of Wales, New York.
Nearby, the White House with the fancy trim was built by John Carpenter in the early 1830’s and is now know as the Gail-Bleak house. The Carpenters had a 20-year-old daughter, equally proficient as a pianist and an equestrian. She died on Christmas 1853, and when her horse died a few days latter, the breaved parents buried the horse and piano beside her. The graveyard is bounded by an old iron rail fence. You may visit, entering from the road. The headstone has long ago disappeared.

The present owners of the property have given us permission to cross their property to visit the small cemetery. They do value their privacy. Please limit your visit to the small cemetery. Do not visit the house and grounds.
