This cache is in the same area as the original Stockyards cache. That cache was placed by CellarDoor Family and we adopted it from them when they moved downstate. We decided to move this cache to a new area because of trash dumping near the old location. The cache container for this listing is approximately 500 feet from the old hiding spot with a new container and trinkets. The log book from the other cache has been recycled into this cache.
A few miles east of the town of Rapid River off US-2. Located on Hiawatha National Forest property at a cattle stockyard area. This stockyard is leased by the U.P. cattle Association. They use it a couple of times a year when they are moving cattle. They also allow the horse association to use it once or twice a year. The local boy scouts also do an event out here. A short walk to the cache.
If you walk in on the road that branches to the right on the way in (it's gated but don't let that stop you) you'll find a small pond. Hope you have fun exploring the area. Happy Caching!
