Geocache Description:

We drove past a yard sale last summer and this ammo box was big enough to catch our eye! We turned around and bought it right away and have been planning an equally big use for it. So, here it is! Unfortunately, that container took a trip downstream in a flood!

What do travel bugs do while they relax at a resort?
Why, conceive new caches, of course!


Time for you to get out of that big 'ol sea and head upstream in an effort to continue the geocache breed! The "mouth" of the "river" is at the parking coordinates. From there, travel upstream. The "river" is paved much of the way, but you'll have to hoof it from there. Don't be fooled by your GPSr! You will find a comfortable travel bug resort and a cache, ready to spawn. We have replaced this cache after loosing the original to flood waters. The new container is a coffee canister. We have removed rules about trading bugs and have added some things. Anything removed now appears as stricken and new information is in pink. We will again replace the cache with a good ammo can that we can tether in place. Though not all that likely to occur, another good flood could take this one until then. Consider yourself warned. We've put it back out with no bugs, but there are some micro cache containers ready to go as part of the spawn idea.

FOR THE FIRST TEN FINDERS:

You have homework with this one! You will find ten almost-ready-to-hide caches. Please take one and hide it within about 50 miles of Le Mars. Once it's listed, post a note on this cache page with the new cache code. Once all ten are hidden, we'll place a brand new cache (full of high quality swag) that will be ONLY for those who have found all ten new caches (compilation cache). We think this will be a fun way to work on challenging each other, making a FTF on the compilation competitive! If you're not from around here, that's okay - you can hide one anyway and we'll be happy to adopt the cache and maintain it. If this works well the first time around, we may consider re-filling the cache with more containers and do this again!

OTHER THAN THAT:

This is just a normal TB hotel. Please take a TB or geocoin only if you have one to replace it if you can help it on toward its goal. Remember, you can "discover" all the bugs and coins in the cache and leave them behind for others to move, provided they have a replacement.

    • Don't forget to discover all the bugs (leave the bug but write its number down and log it as "discovered" at gc.com)
