This cache is inspired by Shakespeare's comedy Twelfth
Night. A synopsis of the play as well as the full text can
be found here. There is a film
version directed by Trevor Nunn with an awesome cast and an
excellent television
production with Helen Hunt. This is one of my favorite
Shakespeare comedies. As in many of Shakespeare's comedies, there
are several love stories going on with cross-dressing and identity
confusion thrown in to spice up the story. There's also a fun gang
of "clowns" in this play led by Sir Toby Belch. I saw a great
production of this play directed by Sir Peter Hall in London many
years ago, and I also really enjoyed the TV performance I mentioned
above. Don't worry - like all the caches in my Shakespeare series,
you don't have to read or see the play to find the cache.
"Be not afraid of greatness: some are
born great, some achieve greatness and some have greatness thrust
upon them".
(Act II, Scene V)
The Cache
This is a challenging night cache. The coordinates above are
not the coordinates for the cache. Rather, they are the
starting point for this nighttime adventure. There are
twelve waypoints on the way to the cache that are marked by
reflectors. The cache is within 20 feet of the
twelfth waypoint. I'd like to keep a theme to the contents
of the cache - please only trade items that light up, reflect, or
glow in the dark.
The cache is more challenging than the usual night cache because
there is a fair amount of bushwhacking involved and you typically
will not be able to see the next reflector from a waypoint. For
each waypoint, you are given a heading to the next waypoint. You'll
have to proceed along that heading and search for the next
reflector. I used brown pyramid reflectors for all the
waypoints. No reflector is more than 500 feet from the previous
one - important information that you can use to help guide you
and help you realize that you've missed it.
Once you find the final, the best way to get back to your car is
to head straight for the starting point - the cache page
coordinates. Then, follow your breadcrumbs back to the parking
area.
The Hunt
- It's always best to begin at the beginning. Park at the
coordinates given below. When you pull in to the parking area,
please make sure you park to the left of the entrance. There is
private property to the right.
- Go to the starting point at the coordinates given on the cache
page. The walk to the starting point is through an open field.
Please keep your use of flashlights to a minimum until you reach
the starting point. There is a private home and a busy road nearby
and we don't want to attract attention to ourselves.
- Use the following table to navigate from waypoint to waypoint.
No reflector is more than 500 feet from the previous one.

Please Note
- Contrary to past information, these reflectors do work well
with LED flashlights.
- When searching for the reflectors, hold your flashlight at eye
level.
- Remember, the brown pyramid or brown cube reflectors
lead towards the cache. If you see any other types of
reflectors, they are not part of the cache.
- You'll be bushwhacking through pine which means some small low
branches that just love to find their way into your eyes. I
recommend you wear eye protection while doing this cache.
- At no point do you have to cross a barbed wire fence. You may
find yourself near one, but at no time do you have to cross
it.
- The cache is a large lock-and-lock container.
- The theme of the cache is things that can be seen in the
dark. Please only trade things that glow in the dark,
reflect light, or light up.
- It is very difficult to do this cache in the day time. The
reflectors I used are made to be stealthy in daylight.
