Geocache Description:

The walk is generaly fairly easy, can be quite wet under foot. (Sturdy footwear or wellington boots are advised)

Please DO NOT MOVE the Cache from this location as it is there for a reason.
If it is any lower down on the floodplain, the stream gets a mighty torrent. and has in the past flooded the cache and spoilt it.
The stream is the catchment for All the water off the moor above.

To get to Cache park at the boating club carpark
(W 002' 00.202/N 53'59.149) then walk around Embsay reservoir and pick up the bridleway on the moor and head upstream to the little dam.

This location is on land owned and managed by the Bolton Abbey Estate, who have kindly given permission for the location of this cache.
In giving this permission, they made the following comments: "The Estate does not accept responsibility for the cache or its contents. Any person carrying out this past time does so at their own risk, as does anyone placing the cache in its hiding position. Anyone carrying out this past time must abide by the rules set out by the (visit link) Geocaching Association of Great Britain and the Countryside Code in general."
